Most of my days start with my (very bossy) housekeeper asking (demanding) something or other. Today was no different. (It's 9am) "Portia, can you please..." "Yes, Luz?" "Tell the clients to stop putting poop in the bins." "What?" "Tell the clients to. Stop. Putting. Poop. In. The. Bins." "The clients are putting poop in the bins?" "Yes." "Luz, do you mean paper? Because they're supposed to put Loo paper in the bin, remember?" [see above sign, placed near all loos] "No, poop. They're putting poop in the bins." "Our American clients, the ones from New York... ?" "Yes. Not just them. All of them. They're all doing it." "You want me to go and interrupt their breakfast to ask them to stop shitting in the bin?" "Yes, please Portia." Honestly, and don't tell Luz, I did not interrupt the New Yorkers' breakfast. I prefer to believe that my Spanish is still flawed enough for the entire conversation to have been a deep misunderstanding. A mystery I'm in no hurry to solve. (But if you do come to stay, please put only the paper in the bin)
