Early Birds

I've been waking up early because of the jetlag.  My friends are waking up early because they have a 1 year old.  Then I realise it isn't just us.  The sun comes up around 5am here, every day, all year. Bogota gets up with it. Colombians are early risers and all the shops you need are open at 7am. They stay open during lunch. They're still open at 7pm. After 7 years in France where a visit to the bank necessitates a half day off work, this is an extremely welcome change. 

Although I've found out it's more normal to get someone else to go to the bank, post office, phone shop, supermarket, etc. on your behalf.
